This book made me laugh out loud so many times, I loved it! Snarky, funny and very entertaining. I'll be reading the whole series for sure. It does remind me of Buffy..which I LOVE! It's such a fun book, not too heavy, the way I like them..Thanks Mari!

The Brookehaven Vampires Series, Book 3

Laney’s story continues in Book 3—Tainted Blood
  Vampires, Werewolves, and…Angels? Oh, my!

Laney’s life is suddenly tangled by deceit and, as she tries to pull her past, present and future together, she finds herself and her friends fighting for their lives. Thrown into the midst of a conflict that has been brewing for centuries—a conflict that no mere human should be anywhere near—Laney and her friends will discover that the mythical creatures of lore are not so mythical after all.

As Carter and Kiera’s relationship moves forward, Laney and Oliver’s becomes strained…confusing…dangerous.

Laney would have never thought Oliver was capable of causing such pain, such heartache, such fear. When he becomes a danger to everyone they know, especially her, Laney must make the choice to save herself, or those she loves.

As if this weren’t enough, a visit from Oliver’s brother could bring Laney’s life to a tragic end.

Tainted Blood – The Brookehaven Vampires, Book 3. YA, Paranormal Romance. 18+

A note from the author, Joann I. Martin Sowles:

Dead Memory Review & Blog Tour

Frustrated with her father’s demand she find a mate, Tawny does, but it’s not one that will receive her family’s blessing. Plus, her new love has no memory of his past…even his name.

Discovering an unconscious man who may be vampire, in the neighbor’s yard leads werewolf Tawny Howls down a love path that’s not going to make her father happy. She senses this man is different, but that doesn’t stop her attraction. Werewolves and vampires are traditional enemies, and it doesn’t help when he remembers nothing about his prior life.

Awakening to find a beautiful woman hovering over him, he remembers nothing of his past life. When Tawny decides to call him David, he’s fine with the name and the attention he receives from his nurse. But why does the scent of the prey she hunts excite him more than the food she cooks?

Can the strong attraction between a shifter and a vampire overcome years of distrust for each other’s species? Will the discovery of his true identity ensnare them in a battle that endangers their lives, in an effort to save mankind from Demon rule?

Once again I find myself in the paranormal world of Lizzie T. Leaf, and as always it's amazing. I love the characters she's created in these short stories and I can't wait to read more.
This is another great story filled with the sarcasm that I love so much, along with some humor - not quite as much as the previous installments, but still a few laugh out loud moments. This one is slightly more on the serious side, but I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading Dead Hot.
Tawny Howls was a New Orleans police detective; that is, until her father urged her to come home and be with her 'own kind'. And by that, he meant for her to come home and find a mate. That's right, Tawny is a wolf, but she doesn't want to mate 'for the good of the pack', she wants to marry for love
When she finds an unconscious naked man in her neighbors yard all her cop instincts kick in, along with her body! When the man finally wakes, he doesn't remember who or what he is.
How will these two make it a relationship work when they are supposed to be enemies, and one can't even remember his life before Tawny

Dead Hunter is another great book in the series, full of sarcasm and quick wit, with a few laugh out loud moments that will keep you turning the pages.
This book digs farther in to the paranormal world, introducing demons and more details about the inner workings of the vampires. I can't wait to read the next book, Dead Memory

ArieAnne Hews - Vampire Hunter.
Is it possible for a vampire hunter to be friends with an entire family of vampires, let alone have a romantic relationship with one?

How can a vampire have a family, and why do they all seem so normal? Throw in the super hot Dr Jonas and she knew she was in real trouble. Torn between staking him and ripping his clothes off, she finds her whole world turned upside down with the realization that her life has been a lie.
Add in a few angry demons trying to take over the world and a couple of supernatural children, and you find yourself wanting more with each turn of the page!
This group of undead has her disregarding her hunter instincts in favor of her sexual needs, but will it get her into trouble?
You'll have to read the series to find out!

Dead Faint Review & Blog Tour

Waking up to discover you're a vampire then fainting at the sight of your number one food source isn't healthy.

Billie Joyce’s dream visit to New York City turned into a nightmare. Now not only is she one of the living dead, but she has to contend with a know-it-all vampire who wants to tell her how to talk. Not gonna happen!

 ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

Dead Faint is the second book in the series, and it doesn't loose any of the sarcasm, humor and charm that started in the first book, Dead Awake. It's definitely a page turner! I just couldn't put it down.

BJ's charming country slang had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion, which brought some strange looks my way because I took this book everywhere.

Billie Joyce Nolan is a small town girl that is tired of the country life. When her father passes away she decides to visit the biggest of big cities... New York City.

While exploring the Big Apple, BJ found herself in a dark alley with some suspicious characters. Lying there near death, BJ is saved by an angel. But Dovey is no angel, in fact she's quite the opposite, being that she's a vampire.

BJ faces many trials as a newly made vampire, including fainting at the sight of blood. You would think that problem topped the list, but tall, dark and handsome Daniel quickly becomes her biggest challenge.

Author: Lizzie T. Leaf

Award winning author, Lizzie T. Leaf started life in Kansas, continued her growing in North Carolina, and currently shivers through the winters in Colorado.  She has numerous e-books in varying lengths and her first print book, Struck by Lightning, won dual 2007 Beacon awards, in addition to being a finalist in two other contests.
In addition, Making Christmas, a Christmas Historical novella set during the Civil War won Love Romances Café Best Historical for 2011 and is a finalist in the Aspen Gold for Best Novella.
Beyond Magic, the first book in the Magical Love series won the 2012 Award of Excellence Best Paranormal/Fantasy/Sy-Fi, and is a finalist for Best Paranormal in the Aspen Gold.  Winners are announced in mid to late October.
Since discovering the fun of writing paranormal, she plays with creating vampires, faeries and other immortals. Her current focus is the DEAD series.  Musa Publishing has re-released the first four novellas in the series and DEAD Hot, a new novella, is scheduled to release in October.  Emerging Magic, the second novel in the Magical Love series will also release in late October or early November with Passion in Print Press.
When not creating mischief for paranormal beings, she can be found exploring the other genres she wants to write.  She also serves as the 2012 President for the Heart of Denver Romance Writers.
Lizzie loves to read, spend time with her family and travel with her best friend husband during her free time, on which most of friends ask…“what free time?”

Tune it tomorrow for my review of Dead Faint, and a chance to win a swag pack! Each week this month I'll be reviewing a book in the series.   :)

My first try at making a Book Safe

I had someone ask if I could make them a book safe... this is my first try at it! and unless I can find an easier way to cut the pages out, it may just be my last. lol

You never know until you try, and try I did.

The book is 9 1/2" x 7 1/2"
the inside is 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" and nearly an inch deep.

Dead Awake - Review by Kim

Dead Awake
(Dead Series #1)
by Lizzie T. Leaf

Waking up to discover you're dead isn't a gal's idea of fun.

Deb Stein loved to party until she took the hunk dressed as a vampire to her bed. Now she’s one of the living dead and pissed about it. Plus, she has to find a new identity and WORK!

Reviewed by Kim Duncan

I loved this book. It's full of drama, sarcasm, and laugh out loud comedy. It's a fast, fun read that will leave you wanting more! If you love paranormal, but want a change of pace this is the perfect series for you!

Aaron Lowell, a year old Vampire, has found himself at a party on Halloween night looking for his next easy meal ticket.
While scanning the party goers his eyes fall upon a beautiful blonde bombshell. He observed the the heated argument she was in with what appeared to be an ex and his new play thing. Aaron decides to swoop in and save the day, hoping to get lucky...

Little did he know that his one good deed would change his existence forever, because the beautiful blonde turned out to be A - List socialite, Deb Stein - and in their moment of passion someone bit just a little too hard!

From A-List paparazzi magnet to a homeless baby vampire trying to stay kosher while searching for a new identity and an actual job... What more do you need to create a great story?

I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

In fact, we will be hosting a blog tour for each of the remaining books in the series, one each week this month. (see the banners above)

Check out all the books in the series:
Dead Awake, Dead Faint, Dead Hunter, Dead Memory, Dead Hot (hasn't been released yet)
