Review: Sweet Savage Blood: Reunion, by Carolina Courtland

Sixteen-year-old Dominique Castille is a typical teen in a boring Texas town, where the most exciting thing is the annual turnip green festival. When the charismatic Caden Hanover enrolls in her high school, her life takes a heart-pounding turn. From the moment she sees Caden, she is irresistibly drawn to him. She has no idea that not only is he a vampire, but that he knows she is the reincarnation of his human wife—the wife he hasn't seen in almost two hundred years. He is determined to reestablish their passionate love. He won't stop until he claims Dominique as his own—and eventually makes her his vampire bride.
A vampire teen romance, Sweet Savage Blood is the story of undying love sweeping across time from the 19th century to the 21st century.

Review:

It starts off great, I love historical paranormal romance... and then it flashes to present day.

Dominique is your typical teenage girl, Caden is an irresistible 200 year old vampire that thinks shes the reincarnation of his wife... what more do you need for a great plot? Maybe throw in a slightly crazy vampire cousin and a vampire slaying cheerleader.
The story is a little slow; there are some really great plot twists mixed in, but there is quite a bit of filler. It takes too long to get to
the point at times. In the last few chapters the story really picks up, and then your hit in the face with an ending. Luckily I already have the next book loaded on my kindle, ready to go!

Review: Her Sweetest Downfall

Ophelia's been successful at hiding her true identity, until the mark of the serpent appears on her neck—a death sentence, should it be seen by anyone in her town. Hiding the mark might save her from falling victim to the witch hunts of her era, but the scorching sensation it carries can’t be ignored.

When the mysterious Ethan is sent to collect her for a life of something more, she learns concealing the mark is the least of her concerns. She’s destined to do a new task—to join a dark, supernatural world and protect the future of people she may never meet.

What she doesn’t know—what she learns too late—is that her initiation won’t be complete until she kills the man who’s captured her heart.

Review:

Another interesting book by Rebecca Hamilton! I loved the Forever Girl, so I thought I'd give this one a try, and I'm glad I did.
Ophelia's story is one full of complications and heartache. A love that can never be because of their destiny... Or can it?
I can't wait to read more about the forever girls!

If you haven't read The Forever Girl you can still read this novella as it's good enough to be a stand alone and if you decide to read the first book it will answer a lot of the questions that you'll have

Review: The Unsinkable Vampire

Haunted by the recent loss of her father and the family estate, Charlotte Covington boards the greatest ocean liner in the world only to discover her mother intent on match making. It is not the young wealthy bachelor Charlotte soon fancies, though. Rather it is the intriguing after hours doctor whose presence sets her heart aflutter. A date with destiny, however, will reveal the doctor's true nature and leave Charlotte with only one hope to survive tragedy.

Review:

I can't tell you exactly what it was about this book that kept my interest, but it ended all to quickly! When I got to the 'to be continued...' I was really hoping for the next part to be available already. Sadly no, there is another book in the series out, but it's all new characters.

The story was good, though it never hinted at vampires until the very end and then you are just left hanging. All in all it was an enjoyable couple of hours spent reading. :) I would gladly read the continuation of their story if it ever comes out.

Review: Love & War (Arcadia Falls Chronicles)

A war is brewing between the hunters and the vampires and Chloe is determined to strike against the vampires before they have a chance to attack the hunter community.

While Chloe tries to convince the hunter community, and most especially tries to convince Drew, that they should move against the vampires first instead of waiting for an attack,
the group of new friends—Oscar, Alice, Drew, Chloe and Christina—are distracted by news reports of a vigilante who is saving innocent humans against what can only be vampire attacks. Fearing this vigilante will cause unwanted attention that will expose the vampire-hunter community with each person he rescues, the group attempts to discover who this mysterious potential vampire hunter is.
When they catch up with him, the group learns a shocking revelation that might just change everything for everyone in Arcadia Falls, but will have the most profound impact on Chloe herself.

The Arcadia Falls Chronicles is the continuation of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Following the format of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, The Arcadia Falls Chronicles is serialized into several novella-length stories.

Review:

I loved The Vampire Hunters Daughter Series, and in this continuation nothing is lost! The drama is still alive, the suspense is still page turning, and the new characters are intriguing!
I can't wait for the next part in the series.
