News from Rachel Caine

Prince of Shadows will be released February 4th.

A thrilling retelling of the star-crossed tale of Romeo and Juliet, from the New York Times bestselling author of the Morganville Vampires series.

In the Houses of Montague and Capulet, there is only one goal: power. The boys are born to fight and die for honor and—if they survive—marry for influence and money, not love. The girls are assets, to be spent wisely. Their wishes are of no import. Their fates are written on the day they are born.

Benvolio Montague, cousin to Romeo, knows all this. He expects to die for his cousin, for his house, but a spark of rebellion still lives inside him. At night, he is the Prince of Shadows, the greatest thief in Verona—and he risks all as he steals from House Capulet. In doing so, he sets eyes on convent-bound Rosaline, and a terrible curse begins that will claim the lives of many in Verona…

…And will rewrite all their fates, forever.

We've been promising big news on our upcoming digital television series, and it's HERE.

Due to high demand from Morganville fans, we've decided to offer TWO roles to open auditions from anywhere in the world. These two roles are for CLAIRE and EVE.

If you'd like to audition for either of the roles in MORGANVILLE: THE SERIES, please read and follow these instructions. Failure to follow instructions will mean your audition won't be considered.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. You must be 18 years of age or older. Due to legal and logistical concerns, we can't consider actors below the age of 18 for these parts.

2. Download the PDF scene for the character of your choice. (You can audition for both parts if you wish, but they must be loaded as separate auditions.)

Click here for Eve audition instructions and scene
(If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download it free here)

3. Film your audition. (Hint: you can do it using a camera phone, your computer's camera, etc. Production values will not matter. You might find it easier to have a friend read you lines from the other character in the scene, but it's your performance that matters.)

4. Upload your audition to YouTube, Vimeo or a similar service as an unlisted or private video, and/or as a password-protected link.  Do not send us actual video files as they will be deleted.

5. Email the link to your audition to claireauditions@morganvilletheseries.com (for Claire) or eveauditions@morganvilletheseries.com (for Eve) with the subject line of AUDITION VIDEO. (If you're auditioning for both parts, send separate links to separate videos.)  In this email you may also include a headshot and resume, but it is not required.

DEADLINE TO AUDITION:
February 14, 2014.

Cutoff for entries is
midnight US Central Time.

Audition links sent after that time
will not be considered.

WHAT'S NEXT? After the submission deadline, we will be reviewing all the auditions submitted with our casting director. If you're selected to proceed to the next round of auditions, we will contact you. Please do NOT contact us.

We're so excited about this... and we'll be following up with information about casting for other parts soon.
