She's a mortal with dark powers...
After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude...until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire...
He's the Prince of Night...
Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.
Review:
This was the first Jeaniene Frost book that I've listened to on Audio instead of actually reading.
I was really excited when this series was announce, I couldn't wait to focus on Dracula!
Vlad doesn't seem as quick witted in his own book as he did appearing in Bones & Cat's books, but he was still quite charming. Lelia's character grew as the story went on, gaining confidence and taking control of her life instead of hiding from the world behind her 'freak' status.
There was plenty of action to keep you interested, both in the bedroom and out. I'm really interested to see what happens in the next book with several characters, not just the main couple. Will Leila win Vlad's heart? I can see Maximus becoming a stronger part of the story if Jeaniene decides to go in that direction.
I can't wait for the next book! This is a definite must read, especially if you've already read Bone's & Cat. Though, don't worry if you haven't - this would be a stand alone series not giving anything away. I did enjoy them stopping in for a visit though.
